In our present day every ounce of trash can be properly disposed of. Over the past few weeks our family has picked up hundreds of pounds of garbage on roadsides in our local town; and more recently on our property where we found 11 tires and filled 4 garbage bags with roadside trash. When camping as a kid I was always reminded to ‘carry out what you carry in’ and ‘leave no trace’. For goodness sake, ’Pitch In’ locally, not just for Earth Day but for Earth’s sake everyday. You can call us “granola eating, tree hugging, earth lovers” all you want, but no one really likes being called names, and no matter what your beliefs are about the environment, there is a common – trash free – ground that we can all agree on.
